Please note that some tools require an ASU course to be taken or a Lab Tech must operate. If we don’t have a piece of equipment in our labs, you may want to check out some of the other labs on campus such as the SIM Building or the Innovation Hub in the Technology Center.

Vertical Band Saw

Our Vertical Band saw can handle a variety of materials. We place an all purpose blade on this machine so that students can cut wood, and metal. This machine also has the ability to hook it up to the air so that it keeps debris off your work surface and allows you to see if you are following your lines are not. If for some reason the machine is not cutting smoothly, please see a lab tech.

Horizontal Band Saw

Our Horizontal Band saw is perfect for cutting stock, pipes, or anything that needs a rough cut made. Since this piece of equipment has a coolant system, we ask that after using it you mop up the coolant that might had splashed out. This type of band saw is different than a standard band saw so please ask for help from a lab tech if you have never used one before.
